Salvation Farms works to build increased resilience in Vermont’s food system through agricultural surplus management. It runs a statewide network that supports local farms, decreases food insecurity, and promotes economic and rural development. It also shares its research and experience to grow local food networks in other regions. Visit the nonprofit’s new website at www.salvationfarms.org.
A fresh website for a new chapter
Salvation Farms’ founder, Theresa Snow, came to Ecopixel at a time of major transition for the nonprofit. After leading Salvation Farms for 20 years, Theresa was planning to step down in the coming year. One of her goals was to provide her successor with improved branding and outreach capacity.
Ecopixel met these needs, including:
- A major branding refresh, designing an updated logo, freshened color scheme, bold typefaces, detailed style guide, and matching nonprofit website redesign
- Improved staff efficiency through CRM integration (Little Green Light), automation, and dynamic form field mapping
- Simplified navigation based on an audience assessment and UX (user experience) wireframing
- Lower fundraising platform costs by using Ecopixel’s built-in donation form
- A flexible, easy-to-use content management system called TYPO3 CMS (we replaced a convoluted WordPress/Divi website)
- Streamlined, mobile-friendly donation form for easier use by a broader contituency
- Reaching everyone in the community by focusing on ADA compliance and following WCAG 2.1 level AA, the international accessibility standard
- Supporting staff through training sessions, ongoing website administration, and proactive website maintenance
